The Choir

The choir at St. Michaels has been leading worship in church for over 50 years and still leads the worship at St Michaels every Sunday morning at 10:30.

If you would like to join us, singing regularly on Sunday mornings, please speak to Alan or Pam after one of the 10:30 services, and come along to one of our monthly rehearsals to learn the upcoming worship songs and hymns.

The Augmented Choir

The Augmented Choir is made up of St Michael’s Choir with the addition of singers who are not always available or do not wish to sing every week. We sing at special services during the year, such as at Easter and Christmas, as well as Harvest and our Patronal Festival.

The Augmented Choir meets for rehearsals on designated Friday evenings to prepare for special services.

We are now planning music for later in the year. If you would like to join us in the choir, please contact Alan 07854865171 or Pam 07801708090 for more details of rehearsal commitments.

Music

The church uses 'Songs of Fellowship' Books 1-6 and the 'Anglican Hymn Book'. We use the 'Parish Psalter' for 1662 services and the 'ASB Psalter' for other services.

We also use the 'New Oxford Easy Anthem Book' and also the 'Oxford Book of Flexible Anthems' which are available for all choir members, as well as a variety of other music sources.

We are affiliated to Royal School of Church Music.

The Organist and Choirmaster is Alan R J Hunt FFA DipRSCM HECert.
