News at St Michaels ............
St. Michael's Model Railway Exhibition
was held on October 8th & 9th 2011 and again proved to be a great success and enjoyed by many visitors. Over £9170 was raised and this will be shared between Demelza House, The Railway Children, Cherished Memories, DGSM yourChoice and St Michael's youth worker fund.
Calling all Men!
We are forming a men's social and fellowship group called the First Friday Fish Club, with a view to enjoying various events together throughout the year (curry nights out, walk and pub lunch, attending sports events, cinema, father and son/kids camping, perhaps getting involved in church/community projects etc.) The idea is to build a healthy mix of members, whether they attend church or not, because, like our annual golf event, this new club is to be part of our outreach to men in our community. It should be great fun and we intend to hold our first event this coming autumn. If you and a friend or two are interested, please contact Arthur Chopourian or sign up on the list at the back of the church.
Christian Aid
Many thanks to everyone who supported Christian Aid Week. We collected nearly £1,500 which could pay for 500 mosquito nets, 125 emergency radios or 50,000 tree saplings, providing practical help to people living in poverty.
