Prayer Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.  1Thess 5:18

At St. Michael’s we are pleased to be able to support the work of the Christian Church at home and in other parts of the world. We have a link with the diocese of Kondoa, Tanzania, where we have helped them to build the new church of St. James the Apostle in
the village of Chemba.

At this time, the Diocese of Kondoa especially needs our prayers and we ask for your continued prayers for the families affected by the flooding in the east of the Diocese of Kondoa and the difficulties that they are now facing in rebuilding their homes in another location.   Elsewhere, while there has been some localised flooding, the rain has been welcomed and seeds have been planted.  Now the fear is that the rains will stop during February and, with the hot sun, the crops will quickly dry out and there will be no harvest later in the year.  Please do join with the church family in Kondoa, who are praying that the rain will continue moderately on and off now and for the next few months.   Link to the Kondoa website article here:

Also, Tearfund has now commenced its Church and Community Mobilisation
Project (CCMP) supported by St James, Tunbridge Wells.  Phase one is in the villages of Chemba and Kidoka (linked with St Michael and All Angels, Wilmington and Christchurch, Bexleyheath respectively).  The website has some more information and pictures here:

Please do pray for the success of this community development project, which will help the communities to build resilience and sustainability, for example in food production and income.
