St Michael & All Angels Church
Due to COVID-19 the Church of England has taken the difficult decision suspend church services to protect all of our church family. During this time we at St. Michael's acknowledge that this will be challenging for us all. Although we cannot come together physically we can still join together in times of worship and prayer electronically and we will be hosting services throughout the week which can be joined online or by phoning in.
Details of these services may be found HERE
Welcome to the website of St Michael and All Angels church. We'd love to meet you in person one day! The church has been in existence in Wilmington since Saxon times but we believe that the message of Jesus Christ is as relevant today as it ever was.
St. Michael's is a lively church for people of all ages, with a vision to be a growing and supportive Church at the heart of the Parish of Wilmington. We aim to grow across generations and for our church to be welcoming to all. A church to come to know God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, through clear and relevant teaching of the Bible, where personal faith can grow and flourish. Our mission work aims to encompass local, Diocesan, national and international communities and to serve through prayer, pastoral support, practical help and financial aid.
There are many aspects to our life at St Michael's but our Sunday gatherings are at the heart of all we do. Details of our Sunday services, and activities for children and young people can be found on this site. Bible teaching is central to our meeting together because we believe the Bible to be God's means of building up and equipping His Church.
As well as meeting on Sundays, many of our members also get together during the week in House Groups for friendship, bible study and mutual support.
For all our weaknesses - which are many - our conviction is that the local church is the hope of the world because Jesus Christ is at it's centre.
Safeguarding: We take the Safeguarding of all people very seriously. Our policy is clearly published on the noticeboard, to the left of the entrance, inside the church. If you have any concerns, please contact our Safeguarding Officer.
