Welcome!
Welcome to the website of St Michael and All Angels church. We'd love to meet you in person one day! The church has been in
existence in Wilmington since Saxon times, but we believe that the message
of Jesus Christ is as relevant today as it ever was.
St. Michael's is a lively church for people of all ages, with a vision to be a growing and supportive Church at the heart of the Parish of Wilmington. We aim to grow across generations and for our church to be welcoming to all. A church to come to know God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, through clear and relevant teaching of the Bible, where personal faith can grow and flourish. Our mission work aims to encompass local, Diocesan, national and international communities and to serve through prayer, pastoral support, practical help and financial aid.
There are many aspects to our life at St Michael's, but our Sunday gatherings are at the heart of all we do. Details of our Sunday services, and activities for children and young people can be found on this site. Bible teaching is central to our meeting together because we believe the Bible to be God's means of building up and equipping His Church.
As well as meeting on Sundays, many of our members also get together during the week in House Groups for friendship, bible study and mutual support and at various social events throughout the year. Click here for more information about regular and special events.
For all our weaknesses - which are many - our conviction is that the local church is the hope of the world because Jesus Christ is at its centre.
Meet the team:
Carl is married to Jenny. They have three children: Freddie, Zac and Daisy.
Carl describes his ministry as "teaching the Bible to others so they know how much God loves them". He continues to be 'work in progress' as he grows in love for Jesus and showing that in his life but is thrilled to be part of the fellowship of saints that is St Michael's.
Children, Youth and Families Minister: Sharon Stirman
We're delighted that Sharon Stirman started as our Children, Youth and Families Minister in June 2021.
Sharon has two grown up children: Mark and Lee.
She brings a lifetime committed to teaching children, in a variety of ways, and will combine the role with further theological training. We are very grateful to the Rochester Good Stewards' Trust for financial support to enable this post and training to happen as it is.
